Marsha Rosner Featured in Crain's List of Notable Women in Health Care

Rosner made significant impact within the healthcare industry

Marsha Rosner’s lab focuses on the signaling mechanism that leads to the generation of tumor cells and their progression to metastatic disease. Her research has led to a way to treat resistant breast cancers by repurposing two older drugs. Studies by Rosner and her team have led to potential therapeutic treatments that could extend beyond breast cancer to others, including lung, kidney, uterus and prostate cancers and leukemia. Rosner started with a finding that provided insights into how cells generate energy and metabolize foods, and that led to novel ideas about how to treat resistant cancers. Rosner employs a diverse group of colleagues from around the world, from undergraduates to postdoctoral fellows. She also is founder and first chair of the University of Chicago Committee on Cancer Biology.
